Restaurants & Pubs

The nearest Pub is ‘The Hunters Moon Inn’ about 5 minutes away in the car or a very nice walk of 45 minutes along the lane and across fields. The Owners will, if available, collect Guests from there if they wish to walk but not walk back. The Pub is very friendly and serves good food, ales and ciders.

The Walnut Tree Restaurant is 1 mile along the main road, it has enjoyed a National and International reputation for many years and the Present Chef is Shaun Hill who owned the Merchant House restaurant in Ludlow when it was voted to be the 14th best restaurant in the World! It has very recently, July 2017 won another National award.. The food and service are excellent but it is worthwhile booking in advance.

The area has many well known and well thought of eating places including, The 1861, approx 2 miles away, The Bell at Skenfrith, 6 miles away, The Angel Hotel at Abergavenny, under the same ownership as The Walnut Tree, The Hardwick, 5 miles, The Crown at Pantygelli, 4 miles, The Crown at Whitebrook 15 miles, The Bear at Crickhowell, 8 miles away, the Angel at Grosmont 4 miles to mention just some.

Amazing! Loved every second! My partner and I stayed at Clock Cottage to celebrate our anniversary, and couldn't have wished for anything more! The cottage was very comfortable, clean & tidy, and had everything that we needed. In a great location, rural and away from the crowds however still accessible to the local villages. Julian's kindess really stood out for us, as a host he was friendly, helpful & on hand at all times. It really was a wonderful experience and we can't wait to come back!!!
